SCHMITTENHÖHE
The local mountain of Zell am See is a true ski mountain and offers the best skiing experience for the whole family. Wide and flat slopes are suitable for beginners, steep, sporty pistes are waiting for the professionals. The snow is good, the view is sensational and you can enjoy it best in a cosy ski hut.
GLACIER SKI RESORT
While hiking still dominates on the Schmittenhöhe, the nearby Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area is already starting the winter season - which lasts until early summer. The glacier in Kaprun impresses with modern cable cars, wide slopes, steep freeride lines and snow parks that attract freestylers from all over the world. At up to 3.000 m above sea level, you can expect a snow guarantee almost 365 days a year.
FREERIDING & SKI TOURING
Off piste skiing through the best powder snow - a fascination you can easily surrender to. The Kitzsteinhorn is a freeride "Mecca", with 5 freeride lines for cool turns. You climb the Ronachkopf ski touring mountain on your own strength, a stop at the Enzianhütte is obligatory. The Kitzsteinhorn also offers two signposted ski tours that take real "fitness junks" up to 3.000 m of altitude.
SKI RENTAL, SKI COURSES & SKI SCHOOLS
In the ski areas around Zell am See there are over 10 ski schools, which offer a wide range of courses from children's courses to beginners' courses for every age to advanced and private lessons. Everyone is able to classify themselves according to their abilities and get exactly the support they need.
